Day 3: Bangkok - Ayutthaya - Bangkok
Today, drive north to Ayutthaya for a journey back in time to the former capital. You will start your sightseeing at Bang Pa-In Summer Palace, a palace complex formerly used by the Thai kings. Move on to Wat Mahathat, where you can see that the stone Buddha head has grown in a tree. Continue to Wat Phra Sri Sanphet, which served as a model for Wat Phra Kaew in Bangkok. Adjacent to Wat Phra Sri Sanphet is Wihan Phra Mongkhon Bophit, an impressive building that houses a large seated bronze Buddha image. After the tour, drive back to your hotel in Bangkok for a good rest.
Day 4: Bangkok - Chiang Mai
After breakfast at your hotel, you will check out and then fly to Chiang Mai. Upon arrival, you will meet your local guide at the airport and be escorted to the hotel for rest.
Day 5: Chiang Mai Tour
Today, you will get a fun cooking experience with a local family. You will visit a traditional Lanna family, and have the opportunity to get close to the daily life of local people. Select fresh ingredients from the garden, cook them with authentic northern Thai flavors, and then enjoy what you cooked with the host.
Day 6: Chiang Mai Tour
This morning, visit Baan Chang Elephant Park to enjoy an Elephant's Day Care activity. Leaving the hotel from around 8:30 to 9:00 by shuttle bus you will reach the park in around 50 minutes. In this ethical and sustainable park, you will learn about the elephants and can touch, bathe and play with them as well as prepare their lunch after enjoying your own. Before returning to Chang Mai you will meet some baby elephants in their nursery area.
Day 7: Chiang Mai - Phuket
This morning is free for you to explore this charming city on your own. In the afternoon, check out and transfer to the airport for your flight to Phuket. On arrival, your local guide will meet you and take you to the hotel for check-in.
Day 9: Phuket Free Day
Today is another free day. You may want to join some activities arranged by your hotel at your own expense, such as snorkeling, diving, parasailing, or a short tour to the islands nearby.
